Floods & Frogs

Photo from here.
I had a relatively scary dream last night. It was all about floods and frogs.

It rained hard that day, I was inside the bedroom with my son and his dad discussing about things. I thought of going out to take a look at what's happening outside but when I made my first step out of the room, my foot got wet. I looked down and the entire house is flooded. I hurriedly called for help and started sweeping off floodwater out of the house. It stopped raining eventually and the floor started to become dry. We stayed at the garage for a while. I saw my sister still drying her porch so I went to help. I moved a chair and noticed, not one, but two, frogs (toads) staring blankly at me. I took a step back and then I heard my son's dad asking me what's wrong. I said I saw frogs and I am a bit scared. I did not continue helping my sister and hurriedly went inside her house. Inside, somebody I knew threw frogs at me. I cried and cried some more, begging for him to stop throwing frogs at me, but, he did not stop. I just cried and cried and screamed and then I woke up.

I am not really scared of frogs, I just find them icky. In fact, I used to hold and dissect them during our Zoology class when I was in college.

This is how Dream Moods interprets flood and frogs in dreams:

To dream that you are in a flood, represents your need to release some sexual desires. If the flood is raging, then it represents emotional issues and tensions. Your repressed emotions are overwhelming you. Consider where the flood is for clues as to where in your waking life is causing you stress and tension. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are overwhelming others with your demands and strong opinion. Still another interpretation could be your desire to wipe everything clean and make a fresh new start.

To see a gentle flood in your dream, indicates that your worries over a certain matter will soon be swept away.

To see a frog in your dream, represents a potential for change or the unexpected. The frog may be a prince in disguise and thus, signify transformation, renewal or rebirth. Alternatively, the frog symbolizes uncleanness or fertility.

To see frogs leaping in your dream, indicate your lack of commitment.  You have a tendency to jump from one thing to another. Alternatively, it may suggest that you are taking major steps toward some goal. It parallels your progress.

To dream that you are catching a frog, signifies your carelessness concerning your health. To hear the sounds of a frog in your dream, indicates that you have not accomplished what you wanted.

To eat a frog in your dream, represents some unsavory or unpleasant task that you need to perform. If you swallow a whole frog in your dream, then there is something that you need to do or say, that is literally difficult to swallow. Consider the phrase "a frog in your throat" to suggest that you are unable to speak. You feel you have lost your voice.

Dream Interpretation: Collapsing Building

I had a dream last night about a building collapsing with me and some other co-workers inside it.
We're cleaning up some rooms at the first floor while construction men, well, do their job in other parts of the building particularly the third floor. After hours of cleaning, my co-workers and I decided to call it a day and get our things at the third floor. When we got there, the building started to tilt and in just a few seconds, everything collapsed. None in the group got hurt as the floor we're standing on wasn't damaged, in fact, it slid down a slope while we still hold on to dear life. At the end of a downhill ride, we found ourselves on a lake. I saw some of my co-workers crying and calling for help.

Would you pursue a relationship your parents doesn't approve of?

It is the 20th century but believe it or not, ending a relationship because the parents doesn't approve of it still happens. Parents have various reason for disapproval--religion, family background, social status, looks, etc. Regardless of the reason, still many couples separate ways because one of the partners value and respect their parents and are afraid of being disowned by their own family.
I have a colleague who had an unplanned pregnancy with her boyfriend for years. Despite being in a relationship with the guy for years, her parents are still against their relationship. When she discovered they were pregnant, they eloped but eventually decided to face their parents to sort things out. At first, the parents were furious to the point of really disowning her. Fortunately, her parents finally accepted the fact that she is pregnant with the guy they despise and were married soon after.
Another story that I would like to share has a sad ending. The guy decided to end his relati…
