Marketing 101

I work as a marketer, and advertising is an inevitable task in my profession. Aside from conceptualizing the look and feel of an advertisement, our department is also responsible to look for contractors who are excellent at printing posters, campaigns, and all other printed marketing materials. Just recently, our department had a hard time conceptualizing a promo for a specific new service, it was good to know that aside from poster printing, our contractor (Visit the site here). also had great ideas to share with us. We went with their suggestion and the campaign went so well that we are planning to make it an annual event. I do not have a bachelor's degree in business, but I do not consider it as a disadvantage for me. My being chosen to work in this field has brought me so much experience and it is continuously inspiring me to learn new things. It really doesn't matter if you do not have a degree in business, for as long as you have the guts, the ambition and the courage to pursue your goals, coupled with tact and wit, and I am pretty sure that you will succeed in marketing. If you are new in the marketing field, you can do research, you could even pursue an MBA. The learning opportunity is limitless. You could even join advertising or marketing clubs like the Philippine Marketing Association or Asian Marketing Federation if you live in Asia. There are tons of marketing clubs all over the world wherein you could exchange ideas. Just one important note, though, this is what I have learned from a marketing convention that I attended last year--Market with the TRUTH and PROMISE what you can DELIVER NOW. It is as simple as that in marketing.

Sony Smartwatch Gen 1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V

The Sony Smartwatch Gen 1 that I initially bought but I saw at that they have a bundle offer--a  Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V and Sony Smartwatch Gen 1 for a lesser cost than when you buy them individually.

It is now here! Finally! After five sleepless nights, my Sony Smartwatch Gen 1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V has arrived! It was delivered within 5 days at the office. I was actually out when my staff informed me that I have a package waiting for me.

A wrist band as a replacement for the velcro strap that comes in the package. This is my Aunt's, mine is white.  She asked me to buy her a Smartwatch Gen 1 and wrist band, too. I actually convinced her to buy a Smartwatch because I really really would like to buy the cellphone-smartwatch bundle.

It's the cutest that ever embraced my wrist since my favorite watch. I like that  aside from telling time, it also tells me if I have a text message, Twitter and Facbook notifications and phone call. It is indeed a smart watch!

My Sony Smartwatch Gen 1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V--they are a match made in gadget heaven!

This is not my first Sony Ericsson cellphone. In fact, it is my third. The first one is a flip top version that my grandma gave me and the second one is a colored one with camera. True to the specifications, it has the clearest camera and a 3D camera as a bonus. I haven't figured out how to use it yet, maybe later after I have finished this post.

How to spot a pathological liar?

Photo from

My patience measures from here to the moon and I rarely confront someone in the office about bad behavior because I am mad, until today. I just learned that one person in the office is spreading lies about me and my department. Everything that this person said were complete lies. I was furious. I had to do something, I had to correct the lies.

I went to their office to ask about what she was telling. She could not look me in the eyes and her gestures were completely inappropriate to what she's saying. She even changed the topic so that I may forget about the real issue. She's already caught red handed but still she's denying everything, even pointing others to escape. I don't see the point anymore of talking to her. I ended the confrontation with these words:

"Don't say anything if what you are going to say are lies."

She has been involved in so many rumor mongering issues and was given disciplinary actions it but she still does the same things over and over again. She's a pathological liar.

According to, pathological lying is a compulsive or impulsive uncontrollable lying on a regular basis despite foreseeing inevitable negative consequences or ultimate disclosure of the lie. It may be developmentally caused by:

* A dysfunctional family;
* Sexual or physical abuse in childhood;
* Neuropsychological abnormalities; such as borderline mental retardation, learning disabilities, etc.;
* Impulse control disorders; such as kleptomania, pathological gambling, compulsive shopping;
* Accommodating or suggestible personality traits;
* Personality disorders; such as sociopathic, narcissistic, borderline, histrionic and more;
* Substance abuse or substance abuse in the family.

They lie to:

* Take advantage of the situation or misguide a rival
* Avoid confrontation or punishment
* Cover up lack of knowledge
* Cover up embarrassment
* Entertain oneself or others
* Reinforce self-esteem, because of failing own expectation
* Receive unearned praise or avoid disappointment or disapproval
* For nor reason whatsoever

If you see these signs (from from a co-worker, a relative or a lover... chances are, he or she is a pathological liar:

1. Trying to pit friends/family members against each other. If the liar was involved in an argument, he or she may change the details so that he or she looks better. Also, he or she may involve other parties, making up information about the other party in order to get more people on his or her side.

2. Trying to avoid trouble. If the liar has done something wrong, he or she will do whatever is necessary to avoid blame--that means fabricating a story and/or pinning culpability on another person.

3. Fabricating a lie in order to gain attention. The main goal with many pathological liars is to gain positive notoriety. From being bored to having low self esteem, the pathological liar's goal is to look better than everyone else so that people pay attention and worship their accomplishments.

The best that you can do to deal with pathological liars is to inform authorities (your boss, in case he or she is a co-employee) and to convince them to undergo therapy.

Sony Smartwatch Gen 1

A totally random purchase from an online shopping website. I just thought this would be a great accessory for my android phone since I don't like to always look at my phone to check for notifications and messages. The Sony Smartwatch was introduced last year. There is already a 2nd generation in the market and it sells for a little over $200.

Bob Marley knows if you have fallen in love

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around.
You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.
You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you.
When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement.
They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself.
Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful.
There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around.
You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are.
The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.
Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again.
Colors seem brighter and more brilliant.
Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all.
A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face.
In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby.
Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you.
You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do.
Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon.
You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible.
You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you.
You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end.
Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.
Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.

What the Bible says about being a role model...

Beyonce Super Bowl 2013 Halftime Performance

I am not a fan of American football but I am definitely a fan of Beyonce. Her halftime performance at the Super Bowl  made me like her even more! She is such an amazing artist.

Random Clicks: Balite Falls Resort

The main fall. Where the water falls is the deepest area of the river.

Our team had a photoshoot in Balite Falls Resort. The public resort is located at Brgy. Banay Banay in Amadeo--the Coffee Town of Cavite. It is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Manila. The closest route to the resort is through Cristano M. Delos Reyes Ave. in Brgy. Maggahan, Gen. Trias. If you want to know more about Balite Falls Resort, visit their Facebook page here.
