10 Disney Management Principles

I dream of going to Disneyland even when I was still a kid. I grew up watching all the Disney princesses and I think that Mickey Mouse is the most lovable mouse ever. Indeed there is some sort of magic that makes people dream of going to the happiest place on earth. How Disney maintain that certain level that is beyond comparison is something that tickles my imagination.

When I went to the bookstore to find reference books for my research, I stumbled upon a book entitled The Disney Way by B. Capodagli and L. Johnson. I read the foreword and before I know it, I was already at the cashier paying.

I could not put the book down. It was amazing reading their management principle is almost the same as any other large companies, maybe, just maybe, the only thing that differentiates Disney from the bunch is that the have with them the most committed and happiest employees who believe in their vision to make Disneyland the happiest place on earth.

I will let you in on Disney's 10 Management Principles that you too can apply in your company.

1. Make everyone's dreams come true
2. You better believe it
3. Never a customer, always a guest
4. All for one and one for all
5. Share the spotlight
6. Dare to dare
7. Practice, practice, practice
8. Make your elephant fly
9. Capture the magic with storyboards
10. Give details top billing

Dream Interpretation: Collapsing Building

I had a dream last night about a building collapsing with me and some other co-workers inside it.
We're cleaning up some rooms at the first floor while construction men, well, do their job in other parts of the building particularly the third floor. After hours of cleaning, my co-workers and I decided to call it a day and get our things at the third floor. When we got there, the building started to tilt and in just a few seconds, everything collapsed. None in the group got hurt as the floor we're standing on wasn't damaged, in fact, it slid down a slope while we still hold on to dear life. At the end of a downhill ride, we found ourselves on a lake. I saw some of my co-workers crying and calling for help.

To dream of cleaning, according to Dream Moods, implies you are overcoming major obstacles in life. You are moving ahead toward a new stage in your life.
To see a building in a dream is to see the self. How high you are in the building represents your …

Random Clicks: Villa Buenaflor Beach Resort

We will have a seminar tomorrow and one of my tasks from being a coordinator is to make sure the venue is perfect so I checked it today together with my colleague.  A lot of things have changed since the last time we had a seminar in Villa Buenaflor Beach Resort in Brgy. Calibuyo, Tanza, Cavite and I wouldn't miss the chance of having some clicks before we call it a day.
This is the view from the 2nd floor of the newly built hotel facing Manila Bay and Bataan Province.

The Corregidor Island in Bataan is just an hour away from Villa Buenaflor.

The rows of acacia trees give shade to the spacious resort.

Lush greens surrounding the resort.
